Blue holland kits are dark blue over their entire bodies. Shown left to right: Orange,
Siamese Sable, Broken Opal, Blue, and Black Tort kits at 9 days old. The Siamese Sable and Blue look
identical at first, but then the SS gets a shimmery cast to its coat. The Broken Opal looks
much like a Broken Blue at a few days old, but will have Agouti markings.

Lilac, aa bb C_ dd E_ |
"The surface color is to be dove-gray with a pinkish tiny, extending well down the hair shaft.
The undercolor is to be a pale dove-gray. Eyes: Blue-gray." |
Left: Broken Lilac. Right: Broken Blue. These may have actually been steel kits, but at this age, it doesn't matter. The picture
still shows the difference in color between a Lilac and a Blue.
2-days old. Left to right: Lilac, Chocolate, Chocolate Agouti, Chocolate.
Lilac's appear pale silvery gray - they are lighter then a blue tort - and have no shading of course.

GBF's Kennedy at 2.5 months. If you don't have a Blue available
to compare against, you might think you have a Blue. However, Lilacs are lighter in color then
a Blue. It's easiest to tell when they are just little kits, as Blue's are a nice dark blue.
As kits, Lilacs are quite pale.

pupil with a lighter pink color in the iris." |
Two day old REW's. Kits are pink at birth. These are English Angora kits, but Hollands
look the same at birth color wise. |
As they get older, their white wool comes in and their eyes open to reveal
their ruby-red-pink eyes. 17-days old. |
