Our Goats

The Main Herd

DOB: March 2009. Mud Creek's Fred. Registered American Tog buck. He is sooo cute! Can't wait to see what he produces. Start watching for his kids in January 2010.

DOB: 23 February 2010. GBF's Toots (Mud Creek's Fred x GBF's Ju-Ju Bee).

photo of Nellie

DOB: 15 Jan 2005. Nellie was one of our first goats. Our daughter Abby wanted to show goats in mini-4H so we purchased Nellie (and Money) from our friend Chad Zahner (Crazy Chad's Goat Farm, Wakarusa, IN). Nellie is the self-proclaimed Queen-Bee of the herd. Tog x Nubian doe.

Katie the dairy goat.

Katie is the sweetheart of the group. She can tie her ears back behind her head, although she looks pretty ornery when she does it! Katie is a good mom - twins each spring. Alpine x Nubian doe.

Cinnamon - Red Boer doe

DOB: 30 Jun 2005. If Nellie ever decides to step down from her position as Head Goat, Cinnamon will be right there to take her place. Cinnamon is a very nice goat - deep and long. She raised triplets this last spring (2009). Boer x Nubian doe.

photo of Skipper

DOB: Mar 2007. Skipper is Abby's cart goat. He is a smart little guy and has done very well at the fair for Abby: Rsv. Champion Harness Goat (2007) and Champion in 2008 and 2009. Katie is his mother. Alpine x Nubian wether.

Money at the fair

DOB: Jan 2005. Money. Big Money. Money was the Rsv. Grand Champion Market Goat at the St. Joseph County 4-H Fair in 2005. He was originally purchased to be a mini 4-H goat, but as he developed, it was obvious that he had greater aspirations. He is a big baby and is quite content to live out his days with the girls, eating hay, lots of hay!. Boer x Nubian wether.

Izzy getting a bottle

DOB: Dec 2007. Then, we have Isabelle - Izzy for short. Izzy was a bottle baby and had a rough time of it last spring - she had to have a c-section to remove a dead kid. She recovered splendidly, and we are hoping things go better for her this year. 100% Tog doe.

DOB: 6 April 2008. GBF's Roma. Roma is Cinnamon's daughter. She too is a nice Boer doe, out of a 100% Boer buck. This is the first time we have tried to breed her.

DOB: 17 March 2009. GBF's Ju-Ju Bean and Jezabell. Twins out of Katie this spring. Out of a 100% Tog buck. They won't be bred until Fall 2010.

2008 Market Goats

Joey.

Joey. Nice long back and neck. Wide stance. Always 'On'. Joey should end up in the heavy weight class (over 74#). Produced by Crazy Chad's Goat Farm in Wakarusa, IN. Traditional colored BoerX.

Sebastian.

Sebastian. Nice solid goat. Strong, long and stands wide. Very correct. It was kind of exciting to buy him at the Supreme Goat Auction. The bidding was fast and furious! He is also from Crazy Chad's Goat Farm. Black Head BoerX.
