2008 St. Joseph County 4-H Fair

Well, we survived! What a long, busy week. The girls did real well showing their goats this year: Abby won Champion Harness Goat with her goat "Skipper". She also won Rsv. Champion Boer Mother-Daughter with her goats Cinnamon (the mom) and Roma (the daughter). Haley brought home the big hardware by winning Grand Champion Sr. Dairy Doe with her goat "Nellie". A quart of Nellie's milk went through the Auction on Friday and brought in $450. Results on how our rabbits did can be found here.

Both of the girls also had broilers (which for our fair are technically roasters - monster chickens!), turkeys and market goats go through the auction. We want to say THANK YOU to everyone who supported them at the auction by purchasing their animals!

Berries - Lots & Lots of Berries

The strawberries are done but that is not the end of the berries for the season. The red, black and purple raspberries are on now. The red and black currants are also being picked now. The Blackberries have set fruit.

Sebastian.

We purchased "Sebastian" at the Supreme Goat Sale held in Argos, IN from Chad Zahner. He is a nice black head BoerX market goat for Haley.

Delta and Roma.

The trip to the barn Sunday morning greeted us with twin doe kids from Cinnamon. They were all curled up, snoozing away peacefully when we went to check on her. The one is all red and the other a gorgeous red paint.

Our Site is Born

Our site is born. Pretty much an empty skeleton right now, but look for additions as we get to them.
